Squeal/interference when using front audio header

I seem to get a squeal/fuzz through my headphones in the front audio header of my antec 300 when anything graphically intense happens on the screen. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes many do, happens a lot with front case audio sockets. The cable going from the audio socket to the sound card or onboard is minimal quality, and picks up interference from all manner of gubbins inside the case, PSU, GFX card etc. They never shield the cables, at least not on cheaper cases. Shielding the cable would pretty much solve the issue, but it would have to be a DIY job.

It would be interesting to find out if any manufacturer shields the cables with more expensive cases. They really should, but it wouldn't surprise me if they don't.
 
Sorry for the thread Necromancy here but I have the same Issue. I have a front pannel with a Audio connector cable that stretches all over my Mo'Bo and around all the Power cables no way of stopping this.

The noise is quite bad and people on comm's (Teamspeak and Vebtrillo) can hear it as well. Is there any product I can buy that might be able to fix the issue, a new cable or front panel that people can recommend?

Even a recommendation for a DIY scenario. I don't want to stick tinfoil inside my PC unless I can't help it!

At the time of this thread, I forgot about ferrite rings. They can be bought cheaply, and they are used to tie cables through them. They help to dissipate EMI and RFI. It's not a fool proof answer to the problem, but it might help.

Tied to Audio cable or Power Cable?
 
Hey,

I had a static problem with my mic

My problem was caused by the realtec software and a few changes to the settings fixed it

Basically it was taking the signal from the mic socket + 1 unused socket at the same time and the unused socket was adding all the static

I cant remember the exact options/settings to change for a fix now though, sorry
 
Think i've found it

Realtec HD audio driver version 6.0.1.6132

1) Open sound manager
2) Click top right corner - "device advanced settings"
3) Then under recording device - change to separate all input jacks

4) Then just make sure you select the correct input to use in vent/ teamspeak etc
