Hi

Im thinking about upgrading to an SSD in my Dell XPS M1730. It has a 320GB hdd atm, with room for a second, so i was going to get an SSD and instal Windows 7, games etc and then keep the 320 as a storage drive.

I was originally looking at the 64GB Kingston - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-007-KS&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=910

However, i wondered if the Intel 80GB is worth the extra £40/£50 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-004-IN&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=910
The quoted 70MB/sec write speed seems quite a bit lower than other drives?

Does anyone know which is the better performing drive?
Is there an even better performing drive thats at least 60GB and under £200?

Thanks in advance!

You can get the Kingston V series drive (the newer ones - they have read speeds of 200MB/s and write of 160MB/s, they have part numbers like SNV425-S2xx/xxxGB, whilst the older drives are SNV125...). You can get 128GB models for around the £200 price mark, which would (probably) be enough for all the files on the computer, unless you have a lot of films/pictures/music etc.

i have a 128gb Samsung PB22-J which has my win7 on, Microsoft office, couple of games and apps and still have over 70gb free.

so loads of room to play with if it's 128gb your going for
