I currently have a 120 GB SSD and 1TB HDD what is the best way to set these up for gaming? I am thinking I might get a bigger SSD as it doesn't really seem enough space for games but I am really not sure how best to use the space I have and if with the right setup I can make it work. many thanks.

For me, on Windows boxes, OS and important applications / launchers go on the SSD. The HDD is used for game and media libraries.

On Linux, boot, swap and root go on the SSD, home goes on the HDD(s).

i would use the SSD for the OS and apps then the HDD for game libraries and storage etc.

you maybe able to squeeze 1 or 2 games on the SSD depending on the size they use when installed.

What make is your SSD? (only asking because some of them have critical firmware updates that they need)

Personally I have this setup..

128GB SSD (Windows)
128GB SSD (Steam -could do with being bigger for newer games)
750GB Laptop HDD (Documents/Downloads/Music, laptop drive for the silence)

I currently have:

512GB SSD, Windows 7/10 Dual boot + Main Apps
1TB SSD (Games)
3TB HDD (Media + Installation files)

The 512GB SSD is split into two 256GB partitions however and for most people a 128GB SSD is big enough for the OS. My Dad's PC has a 128GB SSD for Windows and a 1TB HDD for most applications and photos etc...

My laptop's 128 GB SSD is always near-full. Probably all the Microsoft applications like Visual Studio and Office taking up the space.

I probably should have mentioned if you have a single drive (I.e. a laptop) you should probably have a 256GB SSD at minimum, depending on uses.

My little DELL E4200 gets by with a 128GB, but then I only use it for travel and a bit of web-browsing, videos and very light gaming.
