I posted here a while back as I was looking to get a new system but never ended up doing it and for now I'm just going to upgrade to a new SSD and some more RAM.
I do a lot of Photoshop work and I only have a 75GB SSD so Photoshop is starting to lag as it's nearly full (got Windows 7 64 bit, Photoshop and few other programs on the SSD, everything else is another drive), plus I can't stand the 'scratch disk is full' error any longer. Working with large PSD's in PS means even if I have 15GB free on it, it can soon be zero and start coming up with the error.
So basically I'm on the look out for a new SSD (120GB at least, prob 256GB though) and some new RAM. Got 6GB currently so looking at 8GB at least, possibly more though.
My motherboard is the following; Giga-Byte GA-X58A-UD3R
I'm not entirely sure what will and won't be compatible with it, but I'm looking at the following;
2 x http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-299-CS
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-159-SA&tool=3
Would these be good replacements and compatible? Any help would be greatly appreciated, don't really know much about this sort of stuff!
Thanks,
Chris
