Guys, my Vertex 2E60GB performance dropped to 130MB write/read.

What do I have to do to make Trim to kick off?
Leave it logged in Windows? or locked account? Or resatrt and leave on login screen without loggin in?

Leaving it in BIOS didn't work - left it for the whole night and nothing happened:(

First of all check that TRIM is running ok...

Open command prompt as an elevated user (run as admin).
Type the following: fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify
If the result is '0' TRIM is enabled.

TRIM runs automatically although it might be an idea to make sure you are running the latest firmware for your SSD.

Yeah, I know this command, checked it before and its on.
It has latest update too.

Have you been running lots of benchmarks? This will slow the drive down - you need to give it time to recover. Leave it idle at the logon screen when you're not using it for a few days, then long-term you should leave it at the logon screen for a few hours a week to maintain performance.

TRIM will be working if you have Windows 7 but the drive still needs time to perform garbage collection.

I'll try that, thanks. I'll leave it for a weekend.

Well, just checked my SSD and ti still has a bit lower performance than from the beginning- 220MB read/write. It has been left for a weekend on logon screen.
Is there anything that I'm missing here? Can I get it back on 280MB/s speeds without wiping it?

Hi

With my G.skill Falcon ssd they provide software so that you can manualy run trim command when you think you need to have you checked to see if there is anything simular for your vertex?

It doesnt wipe the ssd either but there is always a chance.
