SSD and Trim

Hi all

I have just installed a Samsung PB22-J 64GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (MMCRE64G5MXP-0VB).

Do I have to do anything to get Trim working or is it automatic?

Operating system is Win 7 enterprise.

Those Samsung drives don't currently have TRIM support iirc, they might have some type of Garbage Collection though, but I can't say for sure.

Is the drive likely to slow down in time and if so is there anything I can do about it?

It will slow down somewhat, especially write speed the rate the degredation will happen depends on how often you delete files. The only thing you can do to cure it is to format the drive, If you image the drive before hand that would make the task very trivial though.
