Hi just wanted to ask is there any increase in performance in games ?
I now that is fast as the F18 but does it make any diffrence in performance ?

No! To put it bluntly. It will decrease boot time, and possibly load times in games but it won't affect the actual performance of the games.

Still most would agree they are worth it :)

Someone said that it helps them load maps quicker so they get off the mark quicker and have a slight advantage (not sure if this is true or not).

An SSD is worth it just in botting windows though.

I was expecting a night and day experience but in reality, it's the little things like booting into windows faster, coming out of hibernate and opening larger RAR files which is nice.

Considering you can get a 60gb drive for £50~ i can't see a reason not to.

I do think the recent surge in HDD prices and the falling price of SSDs could mean the next 12 months will be a turning point.

I went from a normal HDD to an SSD and the obvious change is load times in everything. Windows is now at 30 seconds from pressing the on button. Games are even quicker. Skyrim loads from the save load screen in 5 seconds and loading new areas or internal building in 3-5 seconds most. Its incredible. Map changing in BF 3 takes about 6 seconds and I am usually the first one in spawn waiting for the countdown so in terms of loading massive difference.

Does it improve gaming performance? Not sure. Skyrim never skips or loads or looks like its loading textures or areas in the open world part but then with a normal HDD it may also not do that. BF3 runs smooth as butter with no stuttering or texture pop up. but then as said a normalk HDD may also do the same. FACT is it loads everything almost instantly :) which is why I bought it
