Wasn't whether this topic should go here, in memory or just in general discussion! But I figured for its intended use here was probably best.
I'm very tempted to go down the road of ssd booting using a CF to SATA\IDE adapter. I was just looking for some personal experience and advice on the issue on a few questions:
- Is it actually that much faster? Sure you can boot up 10 seconds quicker but what about every day usage - playing games, rendering, etc.
- Is it safe and as long lasting as an HDD? Something in my gut tells me I shouldn't be putting my OS on something as small and brittle as a CF card.
- Which would be faster, an IDE or an SATA adapter - or are they both limited by the CF speed and so there's no difference?
And apart from that any problems or advice anyone would have. Thank you very much!
