So where?
Hi

I have a 128gb crucial ssd for my OS drive.

Recently had to do some clean installs . I have done all the 'tweaks' regarding page file, indexing, restore..etc

I noticed following.

In my disk management the ssd shows as 119gb capacity with 90gb free space

Questions;

- why is ssd only showing 119 capacity instead of 128 in windows?

-does this have to do with the way things are measured on storage devices?

-does this indicate that as well as the OS partition, there are hidden
partitions on the ssd taking up space?

how do I go about deleting these hidden partitions?

Or is this normal?

In marketting terms, 128gb = 128,000,000,000b, which then equals to 119.2gb under Windows. This is because for marketting, 1000b = 1kb, where as for computers it's 1024b = 1kb.
