Just bought an SSD off a different forum and when I put it in my PC it causes the PC to hang before I can even get into the bios. I remove it and the PC boots straight to bios.

I tried it in a different pc with different sata cables and the same thing. That PC wouldn't boot either.

It hangs on the screen where it says press del for bios, f6 for boot options etc..

Any ideas on how to fix it or is it a dud drive?

I'm with wazza300, what make and model motherboard do you have and does it have the latest BIOS installed?

Something else to try is changing the SATA mode and see how the computer reacts to the SSD drive then.

More extreme, but perhaps even try clearing the BIOS with the jumper on the motherboard.

Hi, it's two different pc's. One I have just built and my normal rig. It's to go in the normal rig.

Both have the ASRock pro4m mobo. My normal rig is the latest bios and I'm assuming the brand new board will be too.

The drive I'm using is an 250gb OCZ agility 3

Would it damage my normal rig I I booted to windows then attached the OCZ SSD?

its an ocz is bound to be a pain in the a$$:D

try bios first, idk whatelse you can do

does the ssd showup in the bios if you get that far?
