SSD check tool?

Is there a tool to check that can check that an SSD drive is ok?

I've got an Acer Aspire One with 16gb SSD and it won't boot as the Windows files are corrupt, so the SSD could be on it's way out. How can I check this, will a full format show up any errors?

Thanks, I've installed it and run it but it doesn't seem to be showing much about my drive, could it be that my drive is a little out of date so is not showing any info?

Yep it seems so. I'm not really sure what SSD it is but it seems pretty slow, here's a benchmark using HDTune:

I think I'm going to have to go the linux route, Win7 seems do be making it crawl along...
