SSD Choice

Hi, I am looking to buy an SSD as early as possible. I currently have an OCZ Agility 3 120GB which has been plagued with issues but the latest firmware update from yesterday seems to be helping. I am looking to buy an SSD below £150.

My choices are currently as follows:

Another Agility 3 for RAID 0
A Crucial M4 128GB
Intel 520 Series 120GB
Corsair Performance Pro 128GB (much more expensive though for seeminlgy no reason).
OCZ Vertex 4 128GB

If anyone can help me make this choice I'll be very grateful

what firmware version are you using now on your agility? 1.3.3?

out of those id choose the intel purely for the 5 year warranty

I have 2.22 which is latest

Corsair performance pro here and very pleased. Excellent performance with all data types ( compressed and uncompressed), extremely fast 4k speeds and 875 points in as ssd. It also has background garbage collection for non trim environments. The 128gb does have slightly lower write speeds than the 256gb.

I'm just wondering if it's worth getting a Vertex 4 or Intel 520 etc for 120GB of fast space, or getting another Agility 3 for much cheaper, an extra 8GB RAM (to bring me to 16GB) and still save some money, while also having 240GB of faster storage (possibly equivalent to the Vertex 4 or whatever)?

Either the Crucial M4 or the Samsung 830. The Samsung will be the faster drive but the M4 is no slouch.

I'd steer clear of Sandforce for now - there are still reports of BSODs on those drives, even with the fantastic Intel firmware. There's just no need to take that risk when the Samsung will match even the best SF-based drives for performance.

There's also the Vertex 4, I believe it's Indilinx Everest-2 based but it's too early to tell how good or bad that is concerning reliability.

I just went for the Agility 3 in RAID 0 option... seemed like it would offer good enough performance for me, and I also could afford the extra 8GB RAM as a result.
