Hey Guys,

So I booted up my PC 3 days ago, went through the POST a bit slow but thought nothing of it, then I am greeted with "No boot device found, Please insert boot- able media and try again" or something along those lines, I thought it might be the drive being unplugged maybe, so I tried a new SATA cable and connected it, started up, same message, the BIOS cannot see it, I booted up another windows partition on my backup drive, Tried to use the OCZ Toolbox kit but it also doesn't recognise the drive, Also tried GParted, It recognised about 4GB of space but it could not touch it,

Its an OCZ 40GB Vertex 2 from ******,

I have already had it replaced about two weeks after I bought and installed it, however it had a solid red light on it then, This time it does not,

What can I do? should I send it off for RMA? Is it locked or something?

Thanks

Rob

My OCZ Vertex died last month - a quick message to OCZ, RMA issued and replaced within 2 weeks.

Is there even room for win7 on a 40gb drive? I'd sell it and get a different brand myself, these ocz drives are so unreliable.

I run Windows 7 x64 on my Netbook and my Media Centre, both with 30gb SSDs :)

The netbook has a 4gb pagefile and 4gb hibernation file. Still has about 6gb free. (System restore is off)

Have you any other HD's in the pc? If so this is worth a shot, disconnect them leaving only the SSD installed (check all connections to it while your at it) then reboot into Bios and reload default settings. Sounds daft I know but this has worked for me before on a SSD plus you have nothing to lose.

RMA'ed It But I Tried That Because It Did Spazz Up Before And That Worked DirtyJester, Sadly Not This time.

Anyone Reccommend Something Reliable, And Around £70-80? Would Be Much Appriciated

If I'm Looking For A Fast Boot Time, Fast Loading Of Games/Apps Am I Looking At The Crucial? Or The Corsair F40, as that Has Higher Read/Write Rates

Nice, Can't justify the need for the extra 64GB's worth of space unfortunately =/ I either need to just have windows and save everything on another drive, or save everything on the main drive and others, can't deal with constantly moving data around, tis annoying =P

gonna order the M4 64GB for £75,

cheers guys!
