SSD Disappeared

Had a Samsung 850 evo disappear in windows and reappear on reboot. Beyond replacing the cable, anyone had this with an evo? Hoping it’s just a one off and not the drive/board.

There's a thread here from 2018 that was resolved by replacing the SATA cable

yeah check the cable. check the drive health in samsung magician and make sure you have anything important backed up somewhere.

It’s just games, but Samsung health reports the drive as good

So this has happened again, this time my evo 840 500gb and evo 850 500gb disappeared...curses. Strangle the 840 evo re-appeared without reboot.

Will have to check both cables.

Usually when this happens its the sata cables from experience. Replace and you're fine again, i've grown to use better quality and usually braided cables as they tend be to stronger and more durable.

Yeah, I'm using some red, braided corsair cables with a Corsair HXi 750 watt psu.
