Hello all from what I read its best to enable ACHI in the bios if you have a SSD drive ?
I went to my bios settings and appear to have 2 sections related to ACHI....

ICH Sata Control Mode

and

Onboard Sata / IDE Control Mode

Do I enable both for ACHI ?????

Thanks
mrix

im sure its that the first one relates to the sata ports controlled by the chipset and the second one is for the gsata ports controlled by the other controller (marvel or whatever it is)

i'd just change the first one if you are running the ssd off the chipset controlled sata port.

RE:

Hello and thanks for the replies, my motherboard is a Gigabyte EX58-UD5
Cheers

i use to have that board mrix. just set the first one to ahci and make sure the ssd is plugged in to one of the sata ports and not the gsata ports and you will be good to go.
