SSD drive disappearing?

Hi all,

Wondering if you guys could help me out here. Or more precisely a friend of mine.

He's got an i5 750 @ 3.8GHz running on an MSI P55-GD65 motherboard. He's got an OCZ 120GB Vertex SSD installed (in Win7) but it's not his boot drive.
He uses it as an F drive where he moves his current games to.

The problem he's getting is that his SSD now seems to just turn itself off at random, even if he's playing one of the games installed on it.

Any idea why and how he can fix it?

I would make sure the SSD firmware is up to date. If it keeps happening then perhaps try another SATA cable and/or SATA controller on the board.

Also make sure hard drive power saving options are turned OFF, at least for the SSD.
