are ssd drives a good investment? are they a lot faster than slandered drives or even raptor drives?

i don't no weather to wait and see if they go down in price or the sizes get a bit bigger, because they are very expensive lol

They have been and will continue to go down in price rapidly. Plus new, better SSD technologies (i.e. adding cache) are coming along, so better performance too. But if you want it now, you want it now :p call it an interim SSD - get a small, cheap, but good one now, and keep it until newer SSDs are right down nearly on a par with HDDs in price and capacity!

a 1TB SSD is supposed to be ready by end of this year so their catching up to regular drive capacity its just the price holding them back from being mainstream. If your patient enough to wait i would as the older SSDs really are probably going to keep coming down as capacity goes up and newer SSDs released, so you could pick up the older ones cheap.
