Ok read a litttle on these ssd drives, from what i see they are expensive small drives ideal to run the o/s and commonly used programs on?

is this correct or is there anything else i need to know, do they run via sata cables in the normal way ?

Correct on both counts.

Windows7 is optimised for SSDs. Also, tweaking and optimisation tools (for example defrag) is a whole new process to learn - it's not hard and it's not really that important if you're not interested - and some of the tools are still developing - but I think this is leading to a bit of misunderstanding with these drives, that they are somehow more difficult to manage - which they are not in reality - just different and more expensive.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack but rather than start a new thread I thought I'd ask if you can run Win XP 32bit on these. I will be going over to Win7 but obviously not until later.

Thanks.:)

I haven't tried it myself, but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't. It's just like any other SATA drive from Windows perspective (Win7 has extra tweaks for SSDs - but they're not critical).
