im starting to think my ssd is starting to die

after a while the pc freezes and needs to be rebooted, but when I reboot it the message get is, please select a bootable device, or something like that. I have to them unplug if from the mains in order for it to then load from the ssd and then does the same all over again

ssd life is telling me I have 88% health but can that really tell how good the drive is or not rather than just guessing a time

I downloaded the latest firmware and ran it but when the pc rebooted it didn't show anything about updating firm ware, if I open ssd life now it says FW 0309 don't know how I can tell if its been updated or not

and finally its done, I just loaded it onto a usb stick as a bootable file and it worked that wa , thanks spoffle :D

Good stuff! I'm happy to have been a help. I've got the same drive in my media computer, and it kept blue screening then not being able to boot. I was losing my mind trying to figure out why. I thought my PSU was faulty and everything. Until I decided to try a new SSD firmware as a last ditch effort, and it actually worked.

Afterwards I looked it up, just to make sure I wasn't in for more grief and realised it was a common problem.

before been flashed = 9 years of life left
after been flashed = 2 months , 26 days left

or so ssd life is telling me

wtf? lol

Just give it a while and it will give a more realistic estimation. My 64GB M4 went gained an extra year after the flash :p.
