First off new firmware for 64gig Falcons 1916, you have to use a jumper on the drive and it deletes everything, GREAT! way off doing it, especially on the boot drive. Anyway did that and put them in raid for boot drive, as firmware supports GC.

So then i brought a Intel X25-M Mainstream 160GB as well for a games drive using a HD for storage. Everything goes fine spend 8 hours reinstalling everything, very fast cannot complain.

Then i get firmware update for the Intel SSD a self booted ISO disk. No problems load it up but it cannot see the SSD, Hmm i no why SSD in on the Raid Controller guess it needs IDE for firmware flash. Into the Bios set IDE, boot, it flashes SSD no problems. But and a big but! changing from Raid to IDE in the Bios broke the Falcon raid and i have to start installing all over again

Lots of fun not

you should have used a different pc to flash firmware that way you would not have broke the raid

thats if the flash does not wipe the data

You should have been able to "import foreign array" in the raid controller bios, which would restore things.
I've even moved entire arrays over a motherboard upgrade with this, from an ICH7 board to an ICH9.
