Hi all, Is it a good thing to use a SSD for gaming? i have a 120gGB SSD for the operating system and i have an old disk drive for my games.

So would there be a benefit to using an SSD drive for my games as a separate drive.

Many Thanks

They would load faster for sure. I wouldn't go back to a mechanical drive after running my games from an SSD. A 250gb would be ideal, something like the new Intel, Crucial or Samsung EVO.

Samsung, Intel and Crucial are the top dogs right now, but personally, get what you think is a good price point.

I bought a Kingston V300 120gb for just under £42 few months ago, and it has dramatically reduced my loading times in BF4, Arma 3 and Dayz.

Then bought an Intel 335 240gb as it was offer for £80, which was a great price, Currently WoW is on that, though its only just decreased loading times, it has decreased the time it takes to load other scenario detailing when you're in.

Just to emphasise that you should avoid OCZ drives like the plague at all costs. After some recent reading, I'm not sure I'd trust a Kingston drive either.
