Are there any recommended ssd's for laptops ?

I'm getting a new laptop soon C2Duo 2ghz 3gig ram Vista, It will primarily used for Outlook, which has multiple pst database files of a few gigs.. Will a SSD significantly benefit performance of this type of application? over a fast HDD ?

I was looking at a Samsung PB22-J 64GB would this be a wise choice ? I have a older type Samsung ssd lying about would there be much noticeable difference ?

Overall system speed will be improved if you install the OS on the SSD.

Not sure if it will improve outlook heavily, maybe someone else can help you there.

But the SSD will give you better battery life and create less heat

SSD's are made for laptops, apart from the increase in performance you'll see over a regular HDD, they use less power and so will save battery life and will produce less heat, and they are silent too. Another often overlooked aspect of SSD's is that they can operate quite happily when subjected to being bounced around - with no moving parts or heads to crash they can literally do somersaults whilst being used (although why you'd want to is beyond me... ;))
