Hi guys

I'm seriously out of this game.. need so advice on which SSD to get, something that's 64gb to 128gb I guess it only needs to store OS and some files will be the drive for OS obviously, when it comes to file storage I have other drives that will cover that.

my current case is antec900v1

what do I need to get it going?

plate
drive

thats it? or am I missing something?

needs to be reliable of course, speed is not the main thing it will be faster than any 7200rpm drive lol.

Samsung 250gb drives are well priced, very quick and reliable. Can't go wrong :) they're not a lot more than 120gb drives

50ish quid a bit too much over 120gb ones.. tbh 120 is more than enough to run OS and some software on it.. will I need a bracket ? or is this included with the drive?

My SSD came with a bracket. Its unused as my case supports SSDs anyway.

You should probably aim for a 120/128gb SSD. Your OS and a couple of regularly played games will sit nicely in there.

With SSD's being so ridiculously cheap these days ( Well, sort of ) I have now converted all 15 of my PCs to SSD to boot from, and hell, even 2 of my Laptops let me swap the DVD for a second HD so they have also gone that way too, and even for a kick, I have changed my kids Laptops to 120GB SSDs

Most are 60GB and this is fine if you dont go over the top with putting stuff onto C:

My main PC is currently Windows 8 and I am using 2x60GB in Raid for my C: but in all honesty, its not really THAT much quicker than one Drive, plus I have 74GB free anyway, so I could happily go a single 60GB

There is simply no excuses these days to NOT use them.. Not for C: anyway.

( or root for Linux users )
