SSD guide? installing this morning

I all i have a Vertex2 thanks to overclockers

. I plan on putting it in my main system which currently is a bit dated. I have a P5B Deluxe motherboard will that have AHCI? Also a friend mentioned turning off the paging file is this nessesary? If someone could answer the questions and lay down the steps that would be great as i am hoping for it to go smoothly this morning and not take all weekend.

Hi. Are you asking if your board has AHCI?

What OS are you running?

Leave the pagefile alone, make sure defragmenting and indexing (if you don't use that) is turned off. I also turn off system restore but it's not a biggie. Don't full format the drive, only quick NTFS with the right file allocation size (alignment). Mine was 1024, not sure if that applies to all.

Are you reinstalling or cloning? Windows 7 takes care of almost everything, XP/Vista need a nudge or two in the right direction.

Well, it should be very easy to check. Enter the BIOS and see! From what I know about that board, I believe it does.

EDIT: The quickest of googles says yes.
