Considering getting another SSD as main o/s drive and using my samsung f1's for data and game storage etc, question is can I keep them as a raid 0 drive but not be the main os installation drive and if so would it be faster accessing games etc from them raided than just 2 seperate storage drives

I see no reason why they wouldn't work in RAID 0 as data drives. Should be faster than currently too, due to all OS traffic using a different drive

Yesp - hybrid drives - a mix of SSD's and spinneys. I got a Revo as system disk then 3 different arrays of spinneys using two sets of RAID 0 for faster disk writes and a RAID 5 install for everything else.

Being as most decent boards now offer RAID as standard its a good idea as its there already. Once you've set this up, use Acronis or similar to image the SSD onto the spinneys then you can restore an image real quick when you need to. To backup my Revo after a fresh install took 3 minutes :)

I thought you needed 2 raid controllers if you wanted to use 2 different raid set ups?

Edit: Yeah, I was just wondering as well because I always thought you could only control 1 with a motherboard's controller. ;)

this is why i am trying to find out if its possible or not :D
If not how will I go about transferring data out of my raid onto a single drive. Thus getting raid0 on my ssd's :D
