I've the Samsung 250GB 850 Evo and 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM hard drive however I've few questions that I'm not sure about,

1. I'm using Windows 7, do I enable or disable Rapid Mode in Samsung Magician?

2. Is it necessary to defrag an SSD?

3. How often do I need to defrag my Seagate HDD?

4. What's the best software to defrag an HDD?

1. i saw no improvement on my system when enabling this apart from benchmarks looked better! so i have this disabled on my SSD as it just uses resorces, might be worth looking at the over provisioning option on the SSD, mines set to 5% instead of the default of 10%.

2. dont need to defrag a SSD, i disable this to stop it running as by default its set to run

3. if the HDD is for storage then you shouldn't really need to run it, i have a HDD that i use for storage and don't bother defraging

4. There is a defrag option built in to windows, this is what i was referring too when i said to disable it for the SSD on comment 2.

I seen posts online that Windows defrag doesn't rearrange data probably/fully
