Yes. Certainly. In fact that is a good way to do it. Have your OS and apps on the SSD and your data on the slower HD.
SSDs are SATA drives just like normal HDs in terms of fitting them into your system (only smaller - 2.5"). So if you have a spare SATA port/cable and power connector you're good to go.
Though you will probably want to reinstall Windows on to the SSD.
Hmm have arranged for delivery today yet still is in queue at the warehouse. Suppose it could turn up as late as six or seven in the evening. Postal strike I wonder.
