HI guys just bought crucial m4 ssd, i have a 150gb hardrive at the mo.

So annoyed they didnt include a sata cable. Shocking

Firstly what settings do i have to enable in bios before installing windows?

It has the latest firmware so thats good.

My most important point how do i split the win7 profiles so it stores user data on my other HDD?

Thanks

You need to have AHCI enabled. Not sure bout any win7 profiles or if you can change them, but just ensure you have AHCI enabled. Enjoy your ssd :)

when you have windows installed you can move your folders/pics/music/docs to the hdd, you simply open your user folder, right click on the folder you want to move, click location tab and change it to the hdd

1) Change storage to AHCI in BIOS (dunno why you wouldn't be using this in the first place though)
2) Unplug old HDD, Plug in new SSD to sata ports
3) Install W7 64 to SSD from DVD
4) Install all important system drivers (chipset, graphics, Intel RST).
5) Open RST in system tray and check that disk data cache is enabled
6) Disable file content indexing (optionally turn it off completely) for SSD and double-check that Windows has correctly disabled scheduled defrags for SSD
7) Run WEI

how do i do points 5 and 6 :)?
