I have 2 SSD's, My OS drive is an OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and my games drive is an OCZ Vertex 2 60gb.

Currently, my games drive has got 2 games installed, BF4 and Contagion as well as the Origin & Steam Client.

Here is what is looks like:

All the above adds up to about 30.31gb, which should easily leave 20gb free. However, my drive appears to have only 5ish GB left and I cannot work out why.

I've checked for hidden files & folders, nothing. I've scanned for malicious content, nothing, what is going on? I'm tempted to reformat and then install BF4 & Contagion again as I'm going to need the extra space for BF4 patches & China Rising once released.

Any ideas on what this could be? Buying a new SSD now is not feasible.

you have 16gb ram installed, if 16gb you'll have 16gb reserved for pagefile so you can reduce it to 2gb and gain 14gb free space

same for disabling sleep mode, that frees up another chunk of space

How would that effect my SSD?

I don't use sleep and the page file has already been limited and instructed to use space from my OS drive.

ahh if you've already moved the pagefile then you will already have that space back

have you turned off sleep mode? all those things reserve space on the os ssd/hdd so disabling them frees up space

Wouldn't it take the space from my OS drive, not my games drive for page/sleep? I'll check the page file, but I cannot see why I would suddenly loose 20gb.

Virus and Malware scans show nothing and the same with Disk Cleanup.

idk ive never moved mine just reduced it to 2gb

it should take it from whatever drive you moved the pagefile to,and it mirrors the amount of ram installed so 16gb memory will eat up 16gb of ssd space and so on

sleep will also use about 4gb of ssd space

Page file did it, but not sure why it just changed. Prior to updating BF4 (as strange as it may sound) it was fine.
