ssd help plz

hello all, i have my new rig coming in the morn (I HOPE). and im getting the ocz vertex 2 120 bigfoot. i have been reading about setting it up but im a lil confussed! regarding the firmware update, how can i do this? my current system is running in IDE mode so i wont be able to update on this will i? is it possible to build my new rig set bios to AHCI mode install win 7 and then update the firmware?

eh up ginger menace i Just took my first step into ssd and have the same ssd as you coming next week. As far as i understand you plug the big foot into a usb and update firmware that way.

thanks ard, i have done it now, just changed my old rig to ahci, but my ssd didnt need updating it was already running 1.25 check yours first it mite be on the newest firmware
