Hi all.

Just installed Windows Vista on my new Crucial M225. Installed the motherboard drivers and rebooted. Installed the gfx card drivers from a USB memory stick and rebooted.

Now it won't boot, says 'Invalid Partition Table'.

Boot of the Windows Vista CD and it doesn't detect the installation so I can't run a repair.

Any idea's?

It sees the drive in the BIOS. I've just tried booting from my Vista DVD to re-install the OS and it says Unallocated Space.

It's looks like it wiped the partition?

I tried to re-install Vista and got this...

Windows could not format a partition on disk 0. The error occurred while preparing the partition selected for installation. Error code: 0x80070057.

Hmm, doesn't sound good...

It's finished but I'm still having the same problem.

Fail to format the selected partition. [Error: 0x80070057].

I'll try another cable and SATA socket. All the kit is brand new, I ordered it off OCUK this week, it's just been delivered...

Hi

Sorry, I'm not able to install it in another computer. I have tried installing the drive as IDE and AHCI. Both times I have been able to install Vista. Then, for some strange reason it deletes / loses the partition.

I'm not even able to format the drive on occasions - I only managed to install Vista the second time when it started 'working' for no apparent reason.

Just spent £1400 on a new system... not happy :(

I'm just trying to install Vista on my old 320GB WD SATA HDD.
