Evening all,

My old man has just filled his 64Gb Agility 3, and is now looking at a bigger drive. He doesn't use benchmarks, but they're the only means I have besides asking you guys, to seperate one drive from another. Unfortunately, the so much marketing speak and general benchmarks-for-the-sake-of-benchmarks-ness that I'm drowning in information. So:-

Is there a real world difference in performance between drive capacities? ie is it worth considering paying extra for a 256GB SSD instead of a 128GB SSD, assuming the additional 128GB of capacity would be completely untouched?

Do I get him:-
Another 64GB Agility 3 and RAID them?
Or a 128GB/256GB replacement?

Once capacity is decided, which drive do I need to be looking at?

I haven't seen anything to justify the extreme premium of the Vertex4, but is there anything to choose between the Agility3/Vertex3/m4/830 that will actually be noticed, real world?

Thanks in advance... :)

Agility 3 has cheaper nand ram the other three are much the same in real world usage I have sandisk extreme which is good also. I would recommend a single drive over a raid pair, go with what you can afford.

EDIT Larger drives tend to perform better as they have more chips to write to at once.
