Hi all,

This may be a stupid question but I was wondering if you can have an SSD as your primary drive and a Hybrid drive (eg Seagate Momentus Hybrid - HDD + SSD cache) as a secondary.

The reason I ask is that I imagine the Hybrid will need intel RST (I think that is what it is called) switched on in order to used the SSD cache on the Hybrid. Therefore, I am not sure if that will interefere with the primary SSD drive.

Does anyone else have this config ? Does it work ? or should I just go for a standard HDD as the secondary ?

Hybrid drives don't need additional software, the drive itself determines what stays in the cache so there's nothing stopping you having both.

you can have all 3 if you want, a standard sdd, a hybrid and normal hdd and also a PCI-E SSD based one in your system, with no real difference lie poster above says.

the only reason most don't take the option is costs
