hi guys read a lot about ssd increasing boot times and slight faster at loader stuff ..would i see any improvments adding one to my set up id so spec me a small reliable one just for os + few programs ?

specs in sig anything else you need just ask

thanks :D

I have an SSD and I think it's a great addition to any system.
I just have Win + Firefox on it (basically, anything you use a lot is best to put on it and normal stuff leave on your mechanical drive) and my overall system responsiveness is great.

I don't reboot very often, but a 20sec boot time is very nice :)

Upgrading to an SSD is imo probably the best single-component upgrade you can do. Even with older computers it gives them a new lease of life, everything you run feels much more snappy.

An SSD will give you the best change in terms of speed and responsiveness, a normal HDD is typically the bottleneck now even for older computers.

I use a 120GB SSD, got windows and a fair few programs installed (still got 62GB free) and everything flys. Just use HDDs for games or any application which sucks up a lot of space and you don't need it to respond faster.

I got an SSD and it makes a phenomenal difference. Boot times are so fast. Loading times for apps are almost non-existent! I got Skyrim and the load screen that is meant to take ages I struggle reading the blurb before the next area has loaded! LOL
