Hi, just wondering why it is when I set my SSD to be #1 in the boot order - the computer wont boot? but when I put one of my storage drives in the boot order it will.

Its like I have windows boot installed on a sep drive yet the SSD is the system drive - I cant wrap my head around it.

Basicly I keep getting Hal.dll errors using Win 7 64x and after doing some reading a few simple fixes was to make sure that the SSD was #1 in the boot priority, I dont fully understand all of it but I've been trying to stop my PC from BSOD's, I only bought it from OCUK about a month ago pre built (Battlefield commander)

Id like to just start a fresh and reinstall windows @ this point, but is there anything special I need to know? as this is my first SSD can I just boot from disc yadda yadda and go from there?

When you installed W7, were any of the other drives plugged in? If so, then there's your problem. Install with SSD plugged in only, then plug in your other drives after installation :)

ah dammit, ye - it came with a spare 500gb HD plugged in :( from OCUK

I didnt think atall to unplug it :( and that happens to be the drive it works with

remove the other drives boot from the windows disk and choose "repair your computer" instead of install

you may have to do this more than once fix the boot files that were not installed because their was already some on the other drive and it just used them instead
you don't have to reinstall windows to fix this at all.

Great, I had no need to reinstall my machine period as it was an unstable overclock they had set :( - changed the voltage abit and bam its stable no crashes - sucks balls lol.

no need to unplug all the other drives either, just make sure the system partition it creates is on the same drive your installing windows to tbh.
