SSD in RAID - worth it?

Hi all!

I'm going to put a ssd scratch disk in my PC for fast rendering and file transfer.

Now I'm wondering, would putting two SSDs in raid 0 offer much speed benefit over 1 single drive?

Files will be sd card - > ssd -> render -> transfer to hdd.

I can't think that a SSD raid would speed that up at any point? So I'm just increasing failure risk for no real benefit. Or am I missing something?

I'd go 1 single drive.

Twice the failure risk for minimum gains.

I use one SSD for my OS and apps and the second for caches/files.

no noticeable gains except in benchmarks.
