has anyone got the ozc v2's in a raid setup as yet? I want to know as I've heard a bits that makes me concerned.

My idea was to have x2 30gig solid state drives for OS and Pagefile plus a small partition for games that I will play the most. Then have my standard drives with a backup OS on other raid setup x2 normall HD's.

Question, why can I not have the solid state drives in raid running off of the 1st and 2nd raid channel of the Mobo? Read here that it would be quicker off of a PCI-e raid card.... why?

am i right in thinking that the raid controllers on the mobo is going to be limited to 150mb/s. Standalone card depending on spec 780mb/s circa?

anyone know of a card that has the Intel IOP341(800MHz) chips with SATA II connects not SAS.

dee thats a real good right up, do you think paying the extra to get a 256mb Raid controller will benefit?
Without doubt, yes. But i would suggest a x4 or 8x PCIE card is more important than just the cache.

i would love this.... Adaptec ASR-5405 but thats so much money :D

if the card has SAS connects which requires an expander.

1) what is the expander?
2) can you still use a sata device on them?

Usually they are SFF-8078 to Sata Break out cables, but check the Adaptec box, it may be a kit which comes with them.

Onboard chips cost less than $5, so you get what you pay for..... :)

Which admittedly isnt bad if you dont want to pay for a 3rd party RAID card, but it is soooooo worth it......

second the above..

what i am looking for is:
Capable of running upto 4 drives
Needs to be as fast as possible
Min of 128mb.
Works well with the v2's

Adaptec 2405 is a good base??

would the extra £80 be worth it for getting the Adaptec RAID 5405?
that has 512mb clocks at 1.2ghz :D Abit of future proofing there :D

Whats the difference between the 2405 and the 2420?? I will be running a 64bit os :D something to do with a 64 bit pci-X 3.3volt slot... which is?
