SSD install, 100MB system partition

When I installed W7 on my 80GB Intel SSD, windows decided it needed to create a 100MB partition, anyone know what it's for and can I remove it? And easiest method?

Does it show in windows as a partition?

The 100mb partition is used to house boot files and WinPE files. I would recommend keeping it, since it can help in recovering your system in case you need to in the future.

Oh and if you do delete it you'll need the Windows 7 disc handy to recover your install before you can boot it again.

My windows 7 ultimate x64 took up 12.5 GB's

W7, x64 10GB including antivirus, VLC and some other small apps.
64.4GB free of 74.4GB
