I am trying to install windows 7 on an intel SSD. I have connected it to the white SATA ports on the board and enabled AHCI mode for sata raid/ahci in the bios.
however i get nothing after the animated windows log-just a black screen.

I have left the other sata connections as IDE. Can i set them all to AHCI and connect the drive to the first light blue sata port? will my other hdds and 2 sata dvd drives still work after i install them?

help please!!

I really don't want to be bad to you, but "UD5" is like saying "i'm having problem with Asus Deluxe board" - no one knows which one of many models do you have in mind.

But on most Gigabyte boards white SATA ports = JMicron controller. If the drivers are not in the W7 installer, then you must use the CD/DVD/USB with the drivers on it. The question is why don't you use the blue ports all the time ? They have better performance than the JMicron controller, and if your board is a Intel one, then the AHCI/RAID drivers are also integrated into W7 media.

i normally use the light blue ports-but because i cannot get in to windows i thought i would try the white ones. As it happens-it still will not go in to windows:( what the hell is up with this thing???
The mobo is a-
