SSD Install Help

Have new gigabyte z68 motherboard and OCZ agility 3 arriving today.

May be a silly question as I have never used or installed an SSD before and a bit of a noob to them.

What SATA 6gb do I connect to. There is an Intel 6gb control and Marvel 6gb controller as far as I can see. Whats best / diffrence.

Only have single SSD going in the computer.

Bit confused by it.

I would put it in the intel one. Not sure why and don't know the difference, but it will work

Do they have numbers next to them, like SATA_1, SATA_2, SATA_3 etc.... if you can, stick it in SATA_1

Oh, and your lucky getting an SSD, I reallly want one, but waiting for my motherboard first

Sata 6GB 0-1 is on the intel Z68 controller.

Sata 6GB 6-7 is the Marvell 88SE9172 controller.

So take it I just put it in Intel SATA 0 and way we go.

Scematic shows that the Marvel controller operates through the Pci Bus.

I really couldn't say the difference between the 2 controllers But I always just put the drives in the lowest number slots

Did you get it working alright?
