Hi guys, I'm trying to work out if I should return my SSD while it's still in warrently as write speeds don't appear particularly fast. Windows 7 64 bit takes about 20 mins to install and I've heard for some people it's far quicker than that (the slow part is the file copying).

If everyone else appears to take the same amount of time then I'll leave it.

Mine is a Corsair P128 and the BIOS is set to AHCI mode.

Thanks,
Link.

I reinstalled Windows on my rig on the weekend and it took about 10-15 mins. Using a Samsung 64gb.

P.S. oh new hardware day today is it? :)

That's the worst possible way to determine a drives speed.... Run some of the benchmark tools, use wiper, etc.
This is exactly what I was thinking, especially when you consider that the data is being copied from a DVD drive, which has terrible throughput and miserable access times in comparison to an SSD. It's like rating a car by the speed the seat belts retract.
