im thinking of getting an ssd but ive got hours of downloaded games steam etc on my caviar black 500 drive, my question to you guys ... is there a way of installing an ssd without formatting my original drive and having to re-download all my games, i want to use the ssd as a boot drive to speed it up a bit, as my caviar black is a bit slow on boot up etc

Now installing the new SSD and keeping the data intact on your HDD isn't too tricky, that's what I did. But mine was simply docs, music, images, etc. So wasn't worried about ensuring may game still ran.
Hopefully someone a little more savvy will clue you up. I'm sure I've read a thread with someone asking the same question but can't put my finger on it. If I find it, I will post link for you.
