Drive disappeared on boot up (was there yesterday). OCZ SSD 120GB - was my programs and music drive.

Went into Disk Management (Admin Tools) and it tells me to select MBR or GUID for it. Basically the contents of the drive have just totally disappeared.

This drive is possibly nearly 2yrs old now - is there any diagnostics software out there for SSD integrity?

This is very disconcerting as I have a Vertex BigFoot (new) too.

I unfortunately don't have a receipt for my failed drive so will have to fork out for another I think :(

looking at the OCZ forum is off putting ever buying another SSD, so many failures.

after getting my replacement Vertex 60GB i intend to keep on top of firmware updates.

Yep. Know what you mean. But then again... check either the Intel, or Crucial forums, they have their own fair share of problem posts! And I suppose it does tend to be the folks that are having the problems that post.
IE. you don't tend to hear from the 99%+ (or at least I rather hope it's that sort of percentage!) that are happy and fault free.

Can be a double edged sword updating the firmware (on anything really). I still have nightmares about bricking a Crucial drive with a firmware update! You pays your money and takes your chance (as they say).
