So i got a SSD with my new PC

now once i had loaded windows, office, all other software i need then started to put games on i got as far as WOW and COD MW2 and 3 i was nearly at a 100g on my 128gig SSD

So what do you guys do

just install software on to the SSD then games onto another HDD ?

Only install games you play regular on the SSD

Or have another SSD for games ?

To me it just seems silly to have a SSD that cant take all your programmes ?

Install the OS and high priority applications on the SSD, most games on the HDD. ;)

And it depends on the size of your SSD, if you were to get something like a 512gb SSD you'll be able to hold all your games easily..

Also, have a look at this. Free up around 12gb on your SSD:

You don't need all applications on an SSD, IMO it's not worth getting more than 128GB unless you need to for the work you do perhaps. Windows will still be fast with just the OS on the SSD (this is what I did when I had just 30GB to play with). Any applications you can get on the SSD is a bonus, I'd say stick the ones you use most on the SSD and the rest on an HDD

Install games you regularly play on the SSD and all other regularly used applications, e.g. web browser, microsoft office. Or you could install the games on a regular HDD and move the fiels over to the SSD when you want to play.

Most of the time loading times for some games aren't really that slow and thus it wouldn't be a worthwhile trade off to have a coyple seconds shaved off loading times to fill up 15gb of the SSD.

Yea thanks

just the cost of an SSD that big is silly money really.... for what a few more seconds load time ?

SSD's big money because they are still relatively new technology. You should have realised that the 128gb size isn't really massive and wouldn't hold everything when you bought it surely? :p

Yea i sort of did know that but forgot if i am honest how big office and windows was

and yes i dont need to put WOW on the SSD i know but thats the game i play most of.

All i was wondering more was what other people do :)

Was going to put all my games on, like old World at war and COD MW1 etc and just link them all to my steam account. but by the time i had WOW and COD MW3 and MW2 i had about 20 gig left :)

Was even going to put my old spellforce on no played that for years but they can all go on the HDD ;)

I put only Office, Browsers and my favourite game on the SSD. All the others are on the HDD.

I've done this also. Win 7, Office Enterprise/Expression Web/Handful of apps and I have bang on 60gb left of my 128gb M4.

For me an ssd is the single best upgrade I have ever bought., Everything is faster and more responsive Now I just download games as I want them and uninstall when finished. Virgin 50meg makes this easy though.
