SSD Not found in BIOS by Dell Dimension C521

This is an old PC and I am resurrecting it. Everything is now working but I thought I would buy an SSD to "speed things up". I have cloned the original HDD using Macrium Free BUT on boot the BIOS (>10 year old vintage) does not recognise the cloned SSD. It does read it in a USB caddy.

Am I expecting too much!

Worked when plugged into DVD writer SATA port - now booting from it - don't understand that!
