** SSD + OHER FLASH/DRAM PRICES GOING UP!! ** BUY NOW!

I know your following the general trends at the moment, and completely understand that you have to meet your own requirements for profit by increasing price, but frankly with the current instability of the Stock markets, especially in Europe with the Greek crisis I wonder whether this will continue...

I must admit, it may well do, but there's also a chance that it may not...

Exchange rates may play favour leaving for a price to drop a little here and there but the price of DRAM and NAND has nothing to do with Europe or any factor relating to exchange rates. Its related to the actual cost of the product and as such with costs of that going up so will the SSD and the DRAM. :(

Sadly myself and many others will just have to do without. Not had a pay rise for 2yrs, gas and electricity all up approx. 20%, fuel, food etc, winter coming. I can see lean times for Ocuk and other such e-tailors as it looks like its time to batten down the hatches.:(

On the other hand.

Rising prices may mean more activity in the MM.

Those with may take advantage of higher prices to peg the price of their second hand items against.

Heck, I know I have 8GB of totally unused memory sitting around in its packaging.

I blame all those memory deals :o

I might actually use it, I just need to convince myself a 64 bit OS is worth the PITA of reinstalling everything.

The economy in our world market at the moment is really bad and I think we heading toward another credit crunch again in 2012 just like 2008 when I lost my job all thanks to Labour Party for make me redundary in 2008 after worked for the company for 15 years and still out of job since 2008! No job yet for me, it rather depressed!

Buy shares now (they're cheap).

Buy property, before you miss the boat.

Buy a HD5850 if you want to Crossfire, because now they are end of line, they'll rocket in price........... I remember that warning, only to witness the price of said graphic card to halve over the next 12 months.

If a salesman ever tells you to buy something (or else), be suspicious.

PS. Now I have questioned the prediction of price rises, it is almost guaranteed that they will !

Nobody can predict the future, but personally I wanted to say thank you to OcUK for pointing out what they are seeing currently and warning us that the consequences could well be rocketing prices on some common purchases. In my opinion, it shows an appreciation of their customer base that you don't often see these days.

Thanks for the heads up, whether it turns out to be correct or not, it's appreciated.

picked up an ssd / memory for the new build too - i cant seem them going down in price in the new future, so if your planning on getting them, may as well get them now just in case.
