Hey guys. Sorry PC user here. Mate wants a ssd in his 2013 macbook. What's the best way to clone his current drive onto the ssd can I do this with a PC ?

Do it on the Mac - put the SSD in a caddy, then use Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper to clone to the SSD. Once done, pop the SSD in the Mac, job done.

Make sure you check the bootable drive is set as the SSD, otherwise it can take a while hunting around for the boot drive. So be patient the first time you boot it up.

Depends which - the Macbook Pro basic 13" does, yes.

The rMBP are a bit harder - there are upgrade kits available for them but they're not 'normal' SSDs.
