I'm looking to add a small SSD boot drive to my HTPC system in order to get faster startup and the responsiveness I found I gained by adding a Vertex 3 to my desktop. The drive will be connected to a SATA2 port and used to hold windows and a handful of programs.

The two drives I've been looking at are the 60Gb Vertex 2e and the 64Gb Crucial M4. The extra capacity of the M4 isn't an issue, but the slower write speed may be. In terms of price theres not much in it (about a £5 difference). Which would I get better performance and reliabilty from on a SATA2 port?

Thanks for any help.

I had vertex 2 60gb on my system, best bit for sata 2, becouse u r not losing anything regarding read/write speeds, and its fast, much better than hdd, having said that id consider momentus xt in ur case, less money, almost same speed on sata2, also no need for a 2nd or consider it as a bonus what u have left from the drive. ssd/hdd hybrid basically
