SSD on the blink?

Hi all, my SSD gave me the dreaded "A disk error has occurred" boot up message the other day, I unplugged/plugged the ports and it booted just fine. Then it did it again so I changed the cables, the next time it booted just fine....and the next 2 or 3 times.
But today it has done it again, but this time I just switched off at the mains, then back on and it booted...just fine!

It seems to be a bit random but it is cause for concern as I could do without it blowing up, I have run a diagnostic check and it tells me all is Good with the drive but I'd like to know if these are the symptoms of a potentially dying SSD?

If so I shall have to look for a new one, only got £60 though so can't afford a high-end decent one!
Thanks.

what SSD is it?

first off I would do the following

- change sata cable
- change sata port
- make sure bios is up to date
- make sure firmware on SSD is up to date.

I have a Samsung 840 evo that would randomly disappear causing my PC to crash and in the end I had to RMA it and was replaced with a 850.

if you do need to replace the SSD you can always get this, £6 more but 240GB SSD

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £74.69
(includes shipping: £8.70)

OCZ-Agility3 and yes already changed cables/ports, BIOS is fine & firmware latest sorry forgot that bit. Everything else in the PC is just fine, when it does boot up (as in now) everything runs fine, there are no crashes or problems to speak of, just the boot up error.

Thanks I'll check that one out but money is a bit tight with Xmas and all that! thanks

What motherboard? It can be a cold boot/detection issue

Is it only when you first power on the PC?

GA-Z77-D3H

It's been fine for almost 4 years now, today however it's taken 10+ attempts to get into Windows after changing ports/cables etc. There is no definitive pattern, except for the first time I got the Recovery Screen a few times an eventually it got me in.
But now I'm into Windows everything is working fine, games run as expected, disk transfer of files (to another SSD) works.
It's not like the old days where an HDD would pack up and that'd be it, this seems (to me at least) to be unrelated to the SSD itself.
Could it be the mobo? Nothing has changed in the BIOS for well over a year, as before it's been running just fine so I'm a bit lost with it.

20minutes of restarts/shutdowns/power offs etc and not ONCE did I get the error message.... :\

Beginning to think it may be a connection issue!

could be

so it does it anytime? restarting or just first initial bootup from cold

how much ram are you running?
