Is it worth it for me to go for a SSD when I have a set of 4x Samsung F3 500GB Hard drives sitting on my bench?

From my reasearch, it seems sustained reads/write would be better on my RAID array....

Discuss... Argue.... debate... convince me :)

PS Leave out RAID'ed SSDs, lack of Trim support is what has killed my choice of a OCZ RevoDrive.

It depends if you're going to be working with single large files - the RAID array may be better for that. If you want applications to open very quickly, the OS to start very quickly and things to load and install quickly (i.e. most things) you should be looking at the access times and 4K read and writes. For this I believe there is no comparison to SSD.
